Wali Films, an esteemed distribution company and up-and-coming film production firm in Pakistan, undertook a mission to amplify its online presence: their goal was to narrow the divide between filmmakers and audiences. Boasting of a legacy that extends over 50 years in film distribution—this rich experience served as the backbone for what they aimed next; leveraging this expertise not only towards creating but also managing platforms where compelling narratives could be told—with captivating performances—to global viewership. The project entailed crafting a dynamic website; WordPress served as the foundation with Figma taking centre stage as our primary design tool. 

Project Scope and Objectives 

Designing and developing a user-friendly website that could serve as a centralized hub for Wali Films’ diverse array of films, productions, and services constituted the primary goal of this project. The company’s brand image needed reflection on the site; it was imperative to showcase their extensive portfolio while facilitating an effortless experience for filmmakers, producers – indeed all audiences. Key objectives included:

1. Global Reach: Expand Wali Films’ reach to a global audience by creating a platform that is accessible and engaging.
2. User-Friendly Interface: Develop a website with an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface; its design must cater to the needs of filmmakers in search for distribution opportunities and audiences desiring information about imminent releases.
3. Visual Appeal: With the use of Figma, create visually stunning and cohesive designs; these should align precisely with Wali Films’ brand identity – a strategy that guarantees an online presence teeming with visual charm.
4. Integration of Portfolio: Showcase Wali Films’ extensive portfolio, highlighting their vast collection of distributed films and upcoming productions.
5. Revenue Growth: Leverage the website as a tool to increase revenues for producers and studios by promoting and facilitating distribution deals.

Development Phase 

The designing process was initiated after thorough research. The research was based on understanding disabled individuals’ unique challenges and identifying their target audience. Figma design tool was used to craft a website that is visually enticing–yet equally accessible. 

1. Requirement Analysis (Month 1): In collaboration with Wali Films’ team, the project requirements were thoroughly analysed to understand the specific needs and objectives. This phase included discussions on the website structure, features, and design preferences.
 2. Design Prototyping (Month 2): Figma was employed to create detailed design prototypes. The designs went through several iterations to ensure they aligned with Wali Films’ brand and conveyed the desired visual appeal.
3. WordPress Development (Months 2-3): The approved designs were implemented using WordPress. Custom themes and functionalities were developed to meet the unique requirements of Wali Films. The site’s architecture allowed for easy content updates and additions.
  4. Content Integration (Months 3): Wali Films’ extensive portfolio of films and productions was integrated into the website, ensuring that each entry was presented in a visually appealing and informative manner.
 5. Testing and Quality Assurance (Months 3): Rigorous testing was conducted to identify and rectify any bugs or issues. This phase also included user testing to ensure a seamless and positive experience for website visitors.

Current Status

The last update reveals that the website is currently undergoing final stages of development; testing and refinement persist. Ongoing adjustments and regular feedback aim to align all aspects precisely to meet client expectations.
